How can we explore people's relationships with nature beyond conventional human-centred stories?
The More-than-Human Interview is a speculative research method in which a fictional nonhuman character interviews a person about their memories and experiences of the natural world.

The approach
For the first case study, Mr Buisson — a fictional bush — interviewed sustainability advocate Helle Ullerup about formative experiences with nature. The interview was translated into a comic (read it here →), making the visual story part of the research process itself.
The outcome
The process helped surface eco-entangled memories and created space to reflect on emotional and relational connections with nature. The study suggests that the playful, more-than-human format can support ecological imagination and less human-centred bias.
